Srinagar, April 14: An unknown woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the river Jhelum in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Sunday.
Reports reaching News Agency Kashmir Scroll said that a lady jumped into the river Jehlum from a cement bridge in the Noorbagh area of Srinagar this afternoon.
Soon after the incident, teams of police from SDRF reached the spot and launched a rescue operation to retrieve the body.
A police officer told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that the rescue operation is on. (KS)
