Three Militants Killed in Ongoing Encounter in Baramulla: IGP

Baramulla, Sep 14: Three militants were killed in an ongoing encounter in the Tapper Kreeri area of Baramulla district on Saturday, officials said.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir zone speaking to Kashmir News Service, confirmed the development, stating that three militants had been neutralized during the encounter. “Their identification is being ascertained,” the officer added.

The operation, launched by a joint team of security forces, continues in the area. According to the officer, the operation began following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of militants.

The encounter began after militants opened fire on security forces when the search operation commenced. Security forces retaliated, leading to the ongoing encounter.

Further details are awaited as the operation is still underway.
