SRTC Driver Allegedly Assaulted by Sumo Drivers in Anantnag, Complaint Lodged

Anantnag, Aug 14 (KF): A State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) driver was allegedly assaulted by sumo drivers in the Hapatnad area of Anantnag district on Wednesday morning.

The victim, Umer Ali Bhat, was operating a bus from the General Bus Stand to Hapatnard as directed by the Deputy Commissioner of Anantnag. The conductor of the bus Waseem Ahmad Khan, was also present during the incident.

According to the SRTC manager, the sumo drivers have been threatening the bus service for the past two months, claiming that the lower fares were affecting their business.
