Sopore, Feb 06: Authorities have sealed the operation theatre at a Sopore hospital after allegations emerged that a doctor mistakenly removed a patient’s uterus instead of performing a scheduled ENT surgery.
According to media reports, the incident occurred during what was supposed to be a routine ENT procedure. However, the alleged error led to the removal of the patient’s uterus—a mistake that has raised serious concerns about the hospital’s surgical protocols.
Local health officials, responding to mounting public outrage following the initial report, have taken decisive action by sealing off the operation theatre.
Hospital representatives have not yet commented publicly on the allegations or the decision to seal the operation theatre at Hakeem Sonuallah Hospital in Sopore.
Legal experts anticipate that if negligence or malpractice is established, the case could lead to criminal charges and civil litigation. The incident also raises broader questions about the regulatory oversight of medical practices.
Further details will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
