Anantnag, Dec 31 (KF): Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag finds itself at the center of controversy after conflicting statements emerged regarding the status of its rodent control measures.
Dr. Khursheed, the head of Bharat Pesticides, as quoted by The Arising State news regarding rodent control at the facility, disclosed that their contract with the administration expired in October 2024.
He explained, “We were given a temporary contract for three months starting in July. Despite working overtime for an additional two months without an official order, the administration has not extended our contract,” Arising State quoted.
However, the principal of GMC Anantnag offered a different narrative, claiming that there is an ongoing contract with the rodenticide company set to expire in the coming months.
The principal also stated that the matter has been discussed with the company and that they have been directed to resolve the issue promptly, making these remarks in front of media cameras.
This discrepancy has raised questions about the administrative efficiency and transparency at GMC Anantnag.
Experts and stakeholders are calling for clarity on the matter to ensure that patient safety is not compromised due to potential negligence.
The conflicting statements highlight the urgent need for streamlined communication and accountability within the institution.
Effective rodent control measures are critical for maintaining hygiene and safeguarding the health of patients and staff.
The administration is expected to take immediate action to address the issue, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to resolve the concerns and restore confidence in the hospital’s management. (KF)
