Rains to lash J&K parts till Sep 3: MeT

Srinagar, Aug 30: Meteorological Department on Friday said that light to moderate rains with thundershowers at isolated places of Jammu and Kashmir will continue till September 3.

In its latest advisory the weather department forecast flash floods, landslides, mudslides and shooting stones over few vulnerable parts of Jammu and Kashmir, and said water logging in few low lying areas may occur.

“There will be generally cloudy weather with light to moderate rains at many places of Jammu & Kashmir today,” MeT said.

It said that from August 31 to September 1 the weather will likely remain generally dry with brief spell of rain & thundershower at isolated areas.

From September 2 to 3 the weather will likely remain cloudy with possibility of light to moderate rains & thundershowers at many places.

From September 4 to 6, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, it said.

Further from September 7 to 8 a spell of light to moderate rain mainly over Jammu division is expected.

The department while issuing advisory amid incessant rains in J&K parts warned of flash floods, landslides, mudslides and shooting stones over few vulnerable places.

It also said that water logging in few low lying areas may take place.
