PDP State Secretary Rouf Bhat Quits Party Ahead of Assembly Polls

Srinagar, Sep 06: In a shocking development, Rouf Bhat, a former State Secretary and Spokesperson of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has resigned from the party, citing its “disgraceful attitude” towards sincere and dedicated workers.

In his resignation letter addressed to the PDP President, Bhat expressed deep disappointment over the party’s decision to overlook the contributions of long-standing members and instead prioritize “parachute entrants” from vested lobbies. He criticized this approach as a repetition of past mistakes that have led to the region’s current predicament.

Bhat’s resignation comes at a time when the PDP is facing significant challenges and has been facing criticism for its internal affairs. His departure is likely to further weaken the party’s position in the region.
