Team of DMO Anantnag conducts raids against illegal mining in Anantnag

Seized 10 vehicles involved in illegal mining.

Anantnag, July 21 (KF): Acting tough against illegal miners in the territorial jurisdiction of district Anantnag, Geology and Mining Department through its team of officials, headed by District Mineral Officer Anantnag Dr. Showkat Ah Bhat, conducted late evening raids during intervening night of 19 and 20 July.

The raids were conducted in various spots of Sangam and Bijbehara areas. The team seized 10 vehicles including 06 Tippers, 02 Dumpers, 1 truck and 01 tractor found involved in illegal carriage of sand and nallah Boulders.

DMO Anantnag, said that Geology and Mining team Anantnag is regularly conducting the raids against illegal mining and on the occasion has also appealed to those people involved to stop this illegal practice and urged people/stakeholders in requirement of construction material/minor miners to procure same from legal sources only.
