Eidgah meant for Prayers only, Not as Playfield: Darakhshan Andrabi

Srinagar, Sep 03 (KF): Waqf Board chairperson, Darakshan Andrabi said that Eidgah is meant for prayers and not for playing.

She said some people have illegally constructed houses and running businesses there which goes against the norms and is illegal.

“It is a land measuring 650 kanals meant for waqf which is being exploited by those playing and has been divided into three parts by people. All three parts of the divided land are part of Eidgah” she said.

She further said there are rules and regulations for everything and unfortunately some people are on a looting spree which cannot be tolerated at any cost.

It is Pertinent to mention, the Waqf board has recently taken a series of measures to end the previous practices including fixing the new rent, removing the Mujavirs and their donation boxes from the shrines. (KNO)
