MeT Predicts Snowfall and Two Western Disturbances in J&K

Srinagar, Dec 31 (KF): Meteorological Department (MeT) Kashmir Predicts Fresh Snowfall and Western Disturbances in Jammu and Kashmir.

Forecast:

December 31: The Meteorological Department predicts generally cloudy weather with light snow at isolated higher reaches.

January 1-2: A feeble Western Disturbance is likely to affect the region, bringing cloudy skies and light snow at scattered places, mainly from January 1 evening to January 2 morning.

January 3-6: A moderate Western Disturbance is expected to bring light to moderate rain in Jammu plains and snowfall across most parts of J&K, with peak activity anticipated from January 4 afternoon to January 6.

January 7-10: Generally cloudy but dry weather conditions are expected.

Advisory:

The MeT Department advises travelers, tourists, and transporters to exercise caution due to sub-freezing temperatures, icy road conditions, and the possibility of fresh snowfall.

Heavy snowfall is likely at isolated higher reaches on January 4 and 5.
