MeT predicts intermittent rains across Jammu & Kashmir till July 13

Srinagar, July 06: Meteorological Department on Saturday predicted intermittent spell of light to moderate rains and thundershowers at many places of Jammu and Kashmir till July 13.

A MeT official said that on July 6 there is a possibility of intermittent light to moderate rainfall at many places of Jammu & Kashmir with heavy showers and rainfall at few places.

He said on July 7 intermittent spell of light to moderate rain and thundershower at many places likely to occur.

The official said that from July 8 to 10 there are chances of hot and humid weather with possibility of brief spell of rain and thundershower at scattered places of Jammu division towards late night & early morning; while a spell of rain and thundershower is expected at few places of Kashmir division.

From July 11 to 13, there is a possibility of spell of light to moderate rain and thundershower at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, he added.

In an advisory, the official said that flash floods, landslides, mudslides or shooting stones at few vulnerable places may occur during July 6. Also few low lying areas may experience temporary water logging conditions. Besides, few places may experience moderate thunderstorm and lightning, the official said.

In past 24 hours, parts of Jammu division received moderate to heavy rainfall, while Kashmir division received light to moderate rains, he added.
