Kashmir Flash Floods: Advisory Issued For Tourists, Schools Closed, Heavy Rains To Continue

Srinagar, April 29: Incessant rains triggered flash floods in serval areas of North Kashmir, including Handwara and Kupwara. Some areas are also facing flood-like situations as several houses were got submerged in water and roads were flooded. Flood-like situation was also reported from around the banks of Nallah Pharo.

In view of inclement weather and avalanche warning issued by Jammu and Kashmir State Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) a holiday was declared across Kupwara district on Monday as a precautionary measure for the safety of students.

However the teaching Non-teaching staff shall attend their duties to monitor the situation and ensure safety of their instutional assets of their respective institutions.

RAINFALL TO CONITNUE

The Meteorological department has predicted more rains in next 24 hours. The MeT office Forecasted generally cloudy weather, hailstorm and gusty winds at few places with possibility of heavy rain over isolated places of Jammu and Kashmir division particularly during the next two days.
