Jamaat Islami Should Not Beg for Lifting Ban, Will Force Central Govt to Lift it: Engineer Rashid

Srinagar, Sep 14: Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid on Saturday suggested that Jamaat-e-Islami should not beg for the lifting of their ban, and instead, they will force the central government to lift it.

According to the reporters, Er Rashid said, “Jamaat-e-Islami will have to look at their own issues. They have to keep in mind that they have made a lot of sacrifices. They should not beg to lift the ban. God willing, Narendra Modi himself will come barefoot and lift the ban from Jamaat-e-Islami. We will force them.”

“If Jamaat-e-Islami fights an election, they should not consider it a weakness of the Jamaat. PDP and NC are happy because they think that you are not going to question them now,” he added.

Regarding the various accusations of being an agent of the Central Government, he said, “I have been in jail for 5.5 years. I don’t want to answer this question. I don’t want to humiliate myself. Why are you giving importance to Mr. Farooq? I defeated his king, his prince with 2.25 lakh votes. Why are you giving importance to him?”

“Madam Mufti launched BJP here . Omar Abdullah was in their cabinet. He was enjoying in SKICC, and I was dying in Tihar. In 5.5 years, he didn’t take any step to solve the Kashmir issue. I am in Tihar jail, and he is here,” Engineer Rashid added.
