Govt Extends Winter Vacation In Kashmir Schools By 2 Days; Classwork To Resume On March 4

Srinagar, Feb 29 (KF): In view of the weather advisory issued by the Meteorological Department (MeT), the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir (DSEK) on Thursday extended the Winter vacation in all Schools of Kashmir division by two more days.

The Directorate of School Education, Kashmir (DSEK) in a notification said, “The classwork in all Government and recognized Private Schools of the Kashmir division upto Higher Secondary level shall commence from March 4, 2024 (Monday) instead of March 1, 2024 (Friday).

“The decision has been taken in view of the weather advisory issued by the Meteorological Department (MeT),” it said.

The Meteorological Department (MeT) had predicted heavy snowfall in higher reaches and heavy rainfall in plains of Jammu and Kashmir from March 1-3, 2024.

The Directorate of School Education, Kashmir (DSEK) had announced Winter vacation for Classes upto 8th Standard from November 28, 2023 and Classes from 9th to 12th (upto higher secondary level) from December 11, 2023 to February 29, 2024. (KF)
