Former MLC Zafar Manhas, His Son Irfan Quit Apni Party

Srinagar, Aug 20: In another jolt to the Altaf Bukhari-led J&K Apni Party, former Member of the erstwhile Legislative Assembly and Apni Party leader Zafar Iqbal Manhas, along with his son Irfan Manhas, have parted ways with the party.
Irfan Manhas, son of the former legislator and Vice Chairman of the District Development Council Shopian, confirmed to the Srinagar-based news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com that both he and his father have formally quit the Apni Party.
Without divulging any further details, Irfan said that he is busy with his workers’ convention and that he and his father would be addressing a press conference soon.
If sources are to be believed, both are joining Congress soon.
It is pertinent to mention here that Zafar Iqbal Manhas was a candidate from the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency and lost the election along with his security deposit.
