Disabled Man Dies in Fire Incident in Baramulla

Baramulla, Feb 21: A devastating fire incident in Janbazpora area of Baramulla claimed the life of a 30-year-old disabled man on Wednesday night.

According to local sources, the deceased has been identified as Zubair Siraj, son of Mohammad Siraj. They said that the fire broke out in a residential structure under mysterious circumstances, trapping Zubair inside. Despite efforts by neighbors and fire services to douse the flames, he could not be rescued in time.

Officials confirmed that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and an investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances leading to the tragedy.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as horrifying, with residents struggling to control the fire before the arrival of fire tenders. “By the time help arrived, the flames had already engulfed the room where Zubair was stuck,” said a local resident.

Authorities have urged the public to adhere to fire safety measures, especially during winter, when fire incidents tend to rise. Meanwhile, the bereaved family and the local community have demanded support for fire victims.
