Srinagar, July 03: The office of Chief Executive Officers (CEO), Tourism Development Authority (TDA) Gulmarg issued an advisory for schools of Kashmir in connection with visiting Gulmarg on weekends due to heavy rush.
The CEO TDA Gulmarg as per an official communication has advised the schools to avoid visiting Gulmarg on Saturday and Sunday in view of high influx of locals and tourists.
It has been given out that on weekends; it has become unavoidable to enforce regulatory measures. Therefore the heads of private/Govt. schools of Kashmir Division are advised to plan their excursions on weekdays and not on weekends (Saturday or Sunday) for their own convenience and that of local authorities.
Further they are advised to apply for prior permission of the GDA on (gulmarggda©gmail.com) cell No: 9622500725 at least one week before excursion, mentioning therein details including the total number of buses, the number of students, bus members, mobile Number of incharge teachers/ staff.
No school buses will be allowed to enter Gulmarg without prior permission of Gulmarg Dev. Authority.
It is also advised to limit the number of buses to less than four per school as the huge fleet of buses leads to traffic jams and congestion due to limited parking space in Gulmarg.
Moreover, the children and accompanying staff shall be sensitized that Gulmarg is an eco-fragile zone and littering/ use of plastic and polythene here is a punishable offence.
