Anantnag, June 01: The Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Anantnag has issued a directive mandating video recording of various transport-related activities, including driving license tests, vehicle fitness trials, and awareness camps, to ensure transparency and proper record-keeping.
According to the official communique, the ARTO stated, “As per Circular directions we have to maintain video records of above activities conducted by the respective boards for a period of three months and as noticed we have been doing so both Boards are advised to maintain proper records of Test sheets and GPS LOCATION PICS/VIDEOGRAPHY and submit same after each trial /test is conducted. This will ensure Transparency and proper maintenance of records.”
The ARTO further emphasized that enforcement and awareness efforts must go hand in hand. This includes audits of school and public transport, pollution checking centers, and driving institutes. All such activities must be supported with photographic or video evidence showing dates.
“Enforcement and awareness must go hand in hand we do Audit of School Transport/Public Transport, checking of Pollution Centers/Driving Institutes etc which also needs proper photographic evidence with dates,” the directive added.
The order, numbered ARTO/PS/162, directs both Motor Vehicle Inspectors (MVIs) to strictly submit proper video records along with test sheets for onward submission. (JKNS)
