Anantnag, May 23 (KF): In a continued offensive against drug trafficking and its illicit profits, Police in Mattan have seized immovable property belonging to a well-known drug peddler under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985.
The confiscated property includes a two-storey residential house with an attic, along with 32 marlas of land located in Gund Bagh, Seer Hamdan. The property is registered in the name of Zubair Ramzan Ganie, son of Mohammad Ramzan Ganie, a resident of the same area.
Zubair is currently facing charges under FIR No. 04/2024, registered at Police Station Mattan, for violations of Sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act and Section 48 of the Excise Act.
During the investigation, the property was found to have been acquired through the illegal proceeds of drug trafficking. Authorities determined through prima facie evidence that the assets were funded by profits from narcotic and psychotropic substance dealings.
Zubair Ramzan Ganie is presently incarcerated at District Jail Bhaderwah, Jammu, under preventive detention as per the PIT-NDPS Act.
This move is part of Anantnag Police’s unwavering campaign to root out the drug trade and rid the district of narcotic-related crime. The police remain steadfast in their commitment.
