All arrangements in place for peaceful conduct of 10th Muharram processions: IGP Kashmir

Srinagar, July 17: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone V K Birdi Wednesday said that all arrangements have been put in place to ensure peaceful conduct of 10th Muharram processions across Kashmir.

Speaking to reporters in Zadibal Srinagar, IGP Kashmir Zone V K Birdi as per news agency Kashmir Scroll said that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the peaceful conduct of the Muharram 10th processions.

Emphasizing the importance of the day, he assured the public that the police, in coordination with other security agencies, have made comprehensive plans to maintain law and order.

He said that measures include the deployment of additional forces, traffic management, and security checks at various points to prevent any untoward incidents have been taken up.

IGP Kashmir urged the public to cooperate with the authorities and adhere to the guidelines to ensure a peaceful observance of the solemn occasion.

Responding to a query, he said that few miscreants have been booked for violating the guidelines during 8th Muharram processions in Srinagar and investigation in this regard is going on.
