Srinagar, March 21 (KF): The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Executive Engineer, and Assistant Executive Engineer of the Manasbal Development Authority on charges of abuse of official position and misappropriation of government funds.
The FIR (No. 03/2024) has been filed under relevant sections of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act and RPC at PS ACB Baramulla.
The accused individuals include Zulfiqar Mohammad Khan, Bashir Ahmad Baba, and Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh, along with beneficiary contractors Ghulam Nabi Mir and Ghulam Nabi Bhat, among others.
The investigation revealed illegal extensions and fraudulent executions of civil works during the financial years 2016-2019, with unauthorized approvals and exorbitant rates provided to contractors.
Following the registration of the FIR, house search warrants were issued, leading to meticulous searches across multiple locations. Various incriminating documents have been recovered, and investigations are ongoing. (KF)
