Anantnag, June 17 (KF): In a significant move to ensure enhanced security for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has declared all Yatra routes as ‘No Flying Zones’ from July 1 to August 10, 2025.
According to Government Order No. 316–HOME (ISA) of 2025, issued by the Home Department on June 16, the decision has been taken in view of the prevailing security scenario and after detailed discussions with all stakeholders.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has also recommended that the entire Yatra route be declared as a ‘No Flying Zone’ to facilitate a secure and peaceful pilgrimage.
The order specifically prohibits flying of any aerial platforms and devices such as UAVs, drones, balloons, etc., across all routes of the Yatra, including the Pahalgam and Baltal axes.
However, the government has clarified that these restrictions will not apply to cases involving medical evacuation, disaster management, or surveillance by security agencies. A detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for such exceptions will be issued separately.
This order will remain in force from July 1 to August 10, 2025.
The order has been issued by Chandraker Bharti (IAS), Principal Secretary to the Government, under the directions of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. (KF)
